Rob Newland, President
Rob Newland conceived the idea for NUCA while working with UC patients on an advisory board. When speaking about unmet patient needs, it became clear that one of the biggest needs was for an advocacy group focused on UC, one that would prioritize patients who often felt like an “afterthought” to Crohn’s disease. The group would provide on-demand support and resources to give “right now” advocacy to UC patients, meeting them where they are in their disease at the moment. He’s always been a big idea kind of guy.
Professionally, Rob is a managing partner at ENA Healthcare Communications in Shrewsbury, NJ, a family-owned marketing agency founded by his dad. Rob is famous for his marathon brainstorms. He loves travel and happy hour, and lives at the Jersey Shore with his wife, Kim, and their 5 young children.
Vision for NUCA
I hope that NUCA can serve as a central resource for patients and caregivers to connect with one another, seek and share advice about living with IBD, and foster a sense of community. NUCA has the potential to make a real difference in the daily lives of those living with ulcerative colitis. My vision is that NUCA will make living with IBD a little easier and a lot less isolating.
